Cullen and Dykman Secures Judgment in New Jersey Commercial Lease Dispute
October 28, 2026On October 21, 2026, Kyle Kunst and Isaac Lee secured judgment in a commercial lease dispute in the Superior Court of New Jersey, Chancery Division, Bergen County.
The case involved the defendant-tenant’s disputed attempt to renew its lease. When the tenant announced its intention to remain in possession of the landlord’s commercial property, notwithstanding its defective exercising of the option, Kyle and Isaac quickly filed the action in the Chancery Division on behalf of the landlord and initially secured a preliminary injunction restraining the tenant from interfering with the landlord’s right to market the property.
The team then secured an expedited trial date approximately four months after filing the complaint. Following a three-day bench trial, the Court issued judgment in favor of the landlord, holding that the tenant was not entitled to renew its lease. The Court’s decision on the record noted that the lease, drafted by Mike Feltman of Cullen and Dykman on behalf of the landlord, was “clear and unambiguous.”
Congratulations to Kyle, Isaac, and Mike on their success and dedicated advocacy on behalf of our client.
