Our attorneys have extensive experience handling the federal, state and local permitting issues associated with petroleum storage, wetlands disturbance, coastal development, energy facility siting, utility and industrial facilities, air and water discharge, stormwater discharge and other approvals. We provide full-service representation related to these and other environmental permitting and compliance issues, and we routinely advise clients with regard to:

  • Asbestos abatement and disposal
  • Endangered species regulations
  • Invasive species regulations
  • Long Island Pine Barrens Protection Act
  • New Jersey Highlands Act
  • New Jersey Pinelands Act
  • New York State Environmental Quality Review Act
  • Flood hazard areas
  • Tidelands conveyances
  • Wetland, flood hazard, waterfront development and coastal area regulation

Our environmental attorneys also have extensive experience assessing and addressing the potential liabilities associated with alleged violations of state and federal environmental laws and, when necessary, negotiating consent orders with government agencies.

Environmental Impact Assessments

In our capacity as counsel to developers and municipalities, we also are also regularly called upon to review environmental impact studies for projects and developments. We carefully guide our clients through the intricacies of laws such as the New York State Environmental Quality Review Act; and, where appropriate, we prepare negative and positive declarations of environmental impact. We also have significant experience representing clients with regard to the preparation and review of environmental impact statements.
