Richard Coppola Successfully Obtained Summary Judgment in Quiet Title Action Commenced on Behalf of Firm’s Not for Profit Client

Richard Coppola, a partner in the firm’s Commercial Litigation Department, successfully obtained summary judgment and quieted title to property on the west side of Manhattan in favor of a religious order. Cullen and Dykman demonstrated that the defendant and his ancestors failed to timely file a declaration of intention to preserve certain restrictions on the use of land pursuant to New York Real Property Law Section 345 and, as a result, the defendant’s right of reverter was extinguished. The court declared that plaintiff was the sole and lawful owner and title holder of the property and was entitled to immediate possession of same.

Suzanne Melnyk Tripp greatly contributed to the success of the action and was integral in drafting the detailed pleadings.
