Joseph D. Simon to Speak at the Spring Meeting of the New York State Bar Association’s Business Law Committee

Joseph D. Simon, a partner in the firm’s Financial Institution Regulatory area, will be a speaker at the Spring Meeting of the New York State Bar Association’s Business Law Section. Mr. Simon will be making a presentation entitled “Restraining Notices, Information Subpoenas and Levies: Compliance Issues Facing Financial Institutions.” The presentation is May 29, 2019 at the Executive Conference Center, 1601 Broadway, Room 701, New York, N.Y. Mr. Simon has been a presenter at previous seminars sponsored by the New York Bankers Association, the NJBankers Association, and the Long Island Bank Compliance Association. He has also presented national continuing legal education webinars on several subjects of interest to financial institutions. Mr. Simon is a co-author of the article “Cybersecurity Regulation for Financial Services Companies: New York Leads the Way” in the Summer, 2017 edition of the Journal of Taxation and Regulation of Financial Services Companies. He is also the author of “CFPB Mortgage Rules Under the Dodd-Frank Act,” a volume of Bloomberg BNA’s Banking Portfolio Series. Mr. Simon is a two-time recipient of a JD Supra Reader’s Choice Award for being one of the top authors in the country with respect to readership and engagement in the area of Banking/Financial Services.
