Muhlstock , partners in the Firm’s General Liability, Tort and Insurance Defense Department, to present in the New York State Bar Association’s (NYSBA) CLE Program entitled, "The Impact of Social Media and Social Inflation on Jury Verdicts". The program will take place virtually on Monday, October 23rd at 12:00pm EST.
Program Description: Over the past two decades social media has played a major role in several high-profile jury trials including Paltrow v. Sanderson and Depp v. Heard. This portion of the session will explore the lessons learned in these high-profile matters that are instructive across a broad spectrum of jury trials. There has also been a great focus within the profession on “nuclear verdicts.” This session will examine the impact of social inflation on jury verdicts with a particular focus on the topics of perceived inflation and the normalization of nuclear verdicts.
