Associate Ryan Spitz Obtains Successful Summary Judgment In Trip and Fall Case

Associate Ryan Spitz has obtained summary judgment in a trip and fall case against our firm's retail client, successfully dismissing the Plaintiff’s Complaint. 

The plaintiff, a former employee of the retail chain, claimed injuries from a trip and fall due to a non-compliant handrail on a staircase. The plaintiff claimed that they fell due to an unsafe staircase and handrail, but the Court agreed that our client was an out-of-possession landlord, who delegated maintenance of the staircase to the tenant, and that the handrail was in fact code-compliant, warranting dismissal of the case.
