July 23, 2025On July 1st, a team of Cullen and Dykman's Higher Education and Bankruptcy attorneys, led by Dina Vespia, Matthew Roseman, and Bonnie Pollack, concluded the Chapter 11 proceedings for the College of Saint Rose. Cullen and Dykman’s attorneys worked closely with the College’s senior leadership and Board of Trustees to ensure that vast majority of the students were able to continue their education at other institutions of higher learning, and to achieve as large a recovery to creditors as possible.
At the confirmation hearing, United States Bankruptcy Judge Littlefield recognized the success of the case and the professionalism of the attorneys at Cullen and Dykman. He singled out Bonnie Pollack, the lead bankruptcy attorney, for particular praise and said:
“Ms. Pollack, if I had to pick a case over my long tenure of how this statute is supposed to work, it would be this case. I’ve in effect been along for the ride. It’s been a wonderful ride, following all of your leads. You’ve anticipated any possible problems. They’re all covered. This case worked and I wish I could say the same about many others, but none have worked like this case. You’ve done a masterful job. I’m honored to confirm this, sign the order.”
Cullen and Dykman is proud to have our Partner Bonnie Pollack recognized for her outstanding work on this case.
Cullen and Dykman continues to work with the College’s Plan Administrator on the final distribution of assets, including the transfer of the College’s endowment funds to other institutions of higher education and charitable organizations where they will go on to benefit future generations of students.
