Leon J. Sokol Appointed by Governor Phil Murphy as Member of the New Jersey Israel Commission

Leon J. Sokol, partner in the firm's Corporate department, has been appointed by Governor Phil Murphy to serve as a member of the New Jersey Israel Commission. Leon is Co-Chairman of the American Society for the Protection of Nature in Israel. The Society for the Protection of Nature in Israel (SPNI) is Israel’s largest environmental organization which frequently coordinates environmental protection programs among several countries in the Middle East.

According to the New Jersey Department of State website, the mission of the New Jersey-Israel Commission is to foster economic, scientific, educational and cultural ties with the State of Israel, one of New Jersey's most important trading partners. 

Leon's corporate practice involves representing clients in contract negotiations, strategic planning, personnel issues, and litigation. His representation of national publicly-traded companies includes negotiating complex matters before state and federal agencies, as well as handling all legal aspects of large-scale redevelopment projects.
