Deirdre M. Mitacek is of counsel in the firm’s Corporate and Energy and Utility departments. She is also a member of the firm's Not-for-Profit and Education Law Practice Groups.  As part of the Not-for-Profit and Education Law Practice Group, Deirdre advises colleges and universities, public charities and private foundations. She frequently represents utility companies in a variety of matters involving energy and utility transactions and regulations.

Deirdre also routinely advises clients on a variety of general corporate matters, including choice of entity, formation, and governance, as well as asset and stock sales, dissolutions and other transactions. Deirdre also has experience advising corporations and their shareholders on matters related to the federal income taxation of corporate transactions, such as choice of entity, acquisitions, mergers, tax-free reorganizations, distributions, and dissolutions. She also provides advice with regard to the taxation of pass-through entities including S corporations, limited liability companies, and partnerships.
