Christian Lastihenos is a 2025 Summer Fellow in the firm’s Long Island office. Christian spent last summer working as a paralegal for Martins Law Firm, PC. He recently completed his first year at Touro College Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center. He graduated from Binghamton University, SUNY, Harper School of Arts and Sciences with a bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences.

What made you interested in law as a Career? I developed an interest in pursuing a legal career while studying for my FINRA license to work as a Private Wealth Management Associate at a financial services firm. During my studies, I became intrigued with FINRA regulations and compliance issues.
What is your favorite thing to do outside of work? I enjoy going to go to the gym and staying active. I routinely train at Bev Francis Powerhouse Gym in Syosset. I also enjoy playing pick-up basketball with my friends. In addition, I have developed a passion for stock trading and investing in securities.
What have you enjoyed most about Cullen and Dykman’s program? What I have enjoyed most about Cullen and Dykman is the people. The partners and associates at Cullen and Dykman are among the most genuine and intelligent colleagues I have had the privilege to work with. Every Partner and Associate I have worked with has given me an extensive amount of time explaining the law. I could not thank the people at Cullen and Dykman enough for their commitment to helping me grow as a professional and as a person.
What academic/professional achievement are you most proud of? I am most proud of a petition that I drafted, which lead to a successful outcome for our client.
What advice do you have for prospective Summer Associates/Fellows? The time you spend going through this experience is very limited. The summer goes by very quickly, so cherish every moment you get to learn and explore every area of the law.
What is the best career advice you have received at Cullen and Dykman? There is no substitute for hard work. Dedication will take you further than luck ever could.
Can you describe some of the ways that you grew during your time at Cullen and Dykman? I developed my communication skills and became more confident in articulating solutions to our clients’ problems. I learned to think outside of the box and become creative when it came to crafting my legal arguments.
What is the most valuable skill you gained while being a Summer Fellow? I developed the ability to adapt to different situations and efficiently shift my focus between assignments. This skill also helped me refine my ability to manage and balance my workload.
