What made you interested in law as a Career? I have always enjoyed reading, writing, and helping others. As one of the oldest in my family, I always found myself being asked for and giving advice. I took time off after graduating from Hofstra and decided to become a paralegal. After working as a paralegal for a year and a half, I knew law school was the next step in my journey.
What is your favorite thing to do outside of work? Read, listen to music, spend time with my goddaughter, Leya, and my niece, Lily.
What have you enjoyed most about Cullen and Dykman’s program? Getting to explore areas that I did not get to do work in last summer and learning more about litigation.
What academic/professional achievement are you most proud of? Being elected to serve on the Student Bar Association executive board for 3 years in a row (twice as Part-Time Vice President and this year as Vice President). During my time at Touro, I have worked to find new ways to increase part-time student involvement, interviewed prospective faculty, and served as a mentor to 1L and 2L students.
What advice do you have for prospective Summer Associates/Fellows? Be yourself! You were chosen to be a Summer Associate/Fellow because of who you are and what you bring to the table. Keep your focus on you and how to grow in your career, not what on others around you are doing.
What is the best career advice you have received at Cullen and Dykman? Always read the Part rules!
Can you describe some of the ways that you grew during your time at Cullen and Dykman? After last summer, I learned that I am more interested in litigation than I thought. I decided to begin taking trial advocacy classes and have continued to explore and develop my litigation skills this summer.
What is the most valuable skill you gained while being a Summer Associate? Sharpening my time management skills.
