Eric Schachter is an associate in Cullen and Dykman’s Bankruptcy and Creditors’ Rights practice, where he represents corporate debtors and creditors in complex bankruptcy matters. His experience spans a range of industries, including real estate, private equity, retail, and health care.

Eric advises corporate debtors throughout the Chapter 11 process, from first-day matters through plan confirmation. He drafts and negotiates plans of reorganization and disclosure statements and prepares motions involving debtor-in-possession financing, cash collateral, and critical vendors. He also handles contested matters and adversary proceedings, including litigation involving merchant cash advance agreements.

On the creditor side, Eric has experience pursuing dismissal of bankruptcy cases and relief from the automatic stay. He has also defended corporations against involuntary Chapter 11 petitions, resulting in case dismissals and the successful pursuit of attorneys’ fees.

Prior to entering private practice, Eric served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Alan M. Rubenstein of the Bucks County Court of Common Pleas in Pennsylvania, where he drafted judicial opinions and civil pretrial orders and conducted legal research across a range of civil and criminal matters.
