Andrea Africano is an associate in the Construction Litigation practice group. Andrea's practice focuses on civil litigation, including the defense of personal injury and New York Labor Law matters. She has experience managing complex litigation from pre-litigation to resolution, including drafting dispositive motions, conducting depositions, appearing in Court, and developing case strategy.
Prior to practicing civil litigation, Andrea served as an Assistant Public Defender with the Office of the Public Defender for Florida’s Fifteenth Judicial Circuit. There, she managed a high-volume misdemeanor and felony caseload, litigated a broad range of pretrial motions, and first-chaired more than a dozen jury trials. Her extensive courtroom experience has provided her with strong advocacy, negotiation, and trial skills that continue to inform her civil practice.
Andrea also practiced criminal defense in private practice, representing clients in misdemeanor and felony matters. She later transitioned to personal injury litigation in New York, where she represented clients in automobile and construction accident cases, prepared witnesses for deposition, defended depositions, and successfully obtained a $4 million judgment following an inquest. She is fluent in Spanish, allowing her to effectively communicate with and advocate for Spanish-speaking clients.
Andrea earned her Juris Doctor from Nova Southeastern University Shepard Broad College of Law and is admitted to practice in New York and Florida.
