Former Municipal Court Judge Sy Kim joins Cullen and Dykman in Hackensack

Cullen and Dykman LLP is pleased to announce that Sy Kim has joined the firm’s rapidly growing Hackensack office as a Partner in its Banking Litigation Department. Kim has served as litigation counsel for many companies as well as represent numerous international companies in establishing a presence in the United States.

Kim comes to the firm with over 27 years of experience representing his clients in a wide array of legal matters, including commercial and mixed-use real estate development, estate planning, bankruptcy, commercial litigation, and corporate matters whereby he advises his international and domestic business clients on matters abroad and within the United States.  Many of Kim’s clients have originated from his extensive experience and roots within the Korean community both in New Jersey and New York.

A former New Jersey municipal court judge, Kim was one of the first Korean-American judges appointed in the United States in 1998 and had also served as Vice Chair of the New Jersey Asian American Commission appointed by the then Governor.

His experience in international matters has the potential to open new markets for us,” noted Joseph Behot, one of the partners managing the Firm’s New Jersey practice.

Kim earned his J.D. from Washington College of Law at The American University and his B.A. in Philosophy from Brandeis University. Kim is admitted to practice in New Jersey and New York.
